Is there anywhere you can buy car paint that is mixed to an exact factory
color code, and put in a spray can for you, or do I need to get it and use a
spray gun ??

Thanks

So does repco. On the weekend I priced a can of sting red at 30 bucks for a
300ml can. Metallic colours are a little more.

You can get it mixed to the colour code but it will _never_ match the
exact colour. Reason being that the pigments vary from batch to batch
and brand to brand as well as change with age on the car. Nor is it
unusual for the colour to vary between horizontal and vertical
surfaces.

The only way to get an exact colour match is to adjust the paint
formula to suit the panel you want to spray. This can be done either
by eye or machine (using a sample from the car) but it's normally one
of the skills you expect a competent spray painter to have.

Besides which, a spray can will _never_ match the finish you would
expect from a half decent high pressure spray gun.

Kmart and auto shops usually have a large range of colours. There is a
little book where you can look up your colour code and get the right can.
They might only have the colours for common cars though.
Around $8 a can.
