Not only borrowed, as you have stated, the design (Blackwood) was based on it. The Series 2 Granada was out in 1977. However, the body of the Falcon is significantly wider than the Granada, and all the other dimensions are different. Uwe Bahnsen (the designer of the Granada, Mk2 Escort, MkIV Cortina etc.) felt that the Falcon was better styled than the Granada, mainly due to the lower waist line (the Granada had to use the Series 1 door skins). In fact, in photographs, movies etc, you would be more likely, with a quick glance, to think the Granada was a Cortina rather than an XD.

Depends who you talk to; I'd be a lot more impressed by the Skyline.

Thanks Dennis.
You've got my curiosity roused now. I'm going on a Grenada hunt to find out more about them :)

They certainly are similar (the C'dores, that is). So far, I have found the following parts fit the Opel Monza (Vauxhall Royale Coupe)
Wagon fuel tank (absolutly perfect fit!) Front guards (VB/C) Bonnet (VB/C)
And have been told (but not checked yet) that
Whole front end suspension/steering (where Holden spent $20M ) Air-con / heater box
And suspect (need to investigate)
semi-trailing arm IRS (I suspect this is different, but it's worth a look for bushes, springs and shocks) Instrument cluster (but a wiring nightmare!) wagon lower outer rear guards (have to better than starting with a flat sheet!), valence, and floor.

So you've been in a top-fueller or funny-car? I ddin't know they had the possibility of having passengers? Or do you mean somebody's lied to you about engine power in their yank tank & you've believed them?
