concerned about my swag's canvas and what look like weak spots

I have just purchased one of these Jungle Reef swags:

which claim to use heavy duty 15oz canvas.

When I lay in it and look up I can see what I can only describe as
tiny perforations in the canvas above me. Is this normal for what is
described as heavy duty canvas? It doesn't look that heavy duty to me.
I'm wondering if what they are selling are seconds.

You need to set it up and give it a good drenching with a hose. This soaks the fibres so (as I understand it) they swell a bit then shrink as they dry. This has the effect of closing up the tiny holes you can see and improving the waterproofing.
