As you can tell, 1" forks are getting harder to find. EBay could be a
good source and with better shipping.
Do a google search for "Winwood RT-10". This is a threaded, 1" steerer
CF fork. Will probably sell for more than the Nashbar piece (even
though it might be the same fork!), but sellers such a bikeman.com
will send one to Germany (for example) for around US$40.

You could have the Nashbar fork sent to to a friend with a US address
and then have them send it on to Europe.
You could try http://www.priceusa.com.au/
Nashbar, proud of being part of a true American Lovin corporation
doesn't like foreeners. If they see the great prices that we, proud
Americans get, they will try to come live here ileegaly. We don't want
non of that.
Alomst fogot, the forineers may start pushin that nonsens global
warmin stuff.
Imagine how many carbon credits Nashbar could be earning with all that
greenhouse gas sequestered in handlebars. And there isn't a single
carbon bike in the entire city of Copenhagen. Think of the marketing
opportunities!
There's a seller of Guzzibits in the US who only uses UPS and he
explained it to me as "We are a longish drive from the nearest post
office, then we have to stand in line for ages while people pay
bills and argue with the staff, then we have to argue with the staff
who usually have no idea about international shipping. UPS pick
it up and bill us monthly."
I expect from Nashbar's point of view using a courier company is good
sense.

I bet they don't use UPS for things that get shipped to them from
their suppliers.

The last two shipments I've received from Nashbar used the FedEx-USPS
combination service. FedEx delivers to the local post office instead of
one's home.

Sadly, this no longer works. The credit card address and ship-to
address must match for international orders from Nashbar and many
others. Perhaps the credit card companies require this now as an
antifraud measure. (I just bought some stuff from Nashbar for a friend
from England for this reason. He picked it up and repaid me when he
came to visit.)

Yes, that's a fairly simple 'workaround' to the unpleasant
complications brought down on us by the internet fraudsters.
Probably more anti-terrist.
You might use those carbon forks as a very blunt knife against
someone.

Information wants to be beer, or something like that. --unknown
Maybe this is the moment to go threadless. More choice.
Lou
why not email their customer service and try to find a more agreeable
solution ?
