To the guy who stopped and gave me a tube, Thanks kindly.
It was good see you riding up the causeway later. I know now you made it
back OK.
The gesture was very much appreciated. I hope I can help some else out to
repay the favour, though I'll have an extra tube on board just in case I see
you out there again.
Ken
2 punctures at the same time is unusual indeed. It has happened to me
only the once when I rode thru the park under this particular tree which
drop seeds that the locals call "cat eyes".
These "cat eyes" are a hard seed and look something like those spiky
tetrahedral thingies which have a spike pointing upwards regardless of
how they are dropped.
Of cos, I am not suggesting you have been spiked by "cat eyes" cos you
would know if you have been - these suckers are probably 1cm-1.5cm(?)
from spike to spike and they tend to stay stuck in the tyre wall.
You didn't see nuffin out of the ordinary during your inspection of
tubes and tyrewalls?

Yupe, some folks are good. I have had strangers stopping to offer help
when they see me fixing a puncture on the roadside. I somtimes feel
guilty for being able to extricate myself out of trouble thus denying
others a chance to render assistance.

Helping somebody else out will probably be the biggest thanks you could
give that guy. :)
You need to put on a little weight, Ken, I've managed it down there a
few times. ;^)

I used to carry two spare tubes, a kit, and some emergency sealant in
a can. Fatter tyres, thicker tubes and dual suspension helped, so now
I only carry one tube and a kit, but hammering that singletrack is
always risky.

Good work Ken, karma pays off. I've given and received tubes and
assistance over the years.
