I have seen some fairly ordinary cycling facilities but few as bad as
those.

(They have obviously mined the famous "cycling facility of the month"
website for the pics)

The "A frame" seems particularly awful! (For an upright anyway, a 2
wheel 'bent, especially a low-racer wouldhave no problems...)

The trouble with Google is that it killed the old Usenet tradition of
fruitless speculation...

:-).

Replaced it with authoritative speculation, and rapid edits...

And Google ranks - the new game in town...

Love it! However, the most interesting part of it was clicking on one
of the pictures and seeing this:

A video that every single council/politician in Australia should be
forced to watch.

THey are all riding very relaxed bikes - high bars and pedals well
forward of seat, meaning easier to get your foot down at stops.

No drop bars to be seen, no mountain bikes.

The old fashioned style is much more comfortable in normal clothing,
and generally easier for a commuter. But they cost a packet here as
the cheap bikes are all pretending to be for sport. As if the only
cars you could buy were imitation Ferraris or imitation Army
Landrovers unless you were willing to spend 30 grand.

On 2011-12-24, Climate Change (aka Bruce)
was almost, but not quite, entirely unlike tea:

Strangely, that does not look like a Utopia to me. I like being the
odd one out dammit. No annoying slow people in my way!

P.S. I hate summer.
