We will have to wait and see but after hearing many stories about
military equipment such as trucks and motorcycles being dug up many
years after the war still in excellent condition its possible they are
still "as good as new".

** Update - seems the machines are indeed Mk XIVs.

2050hp Griffon engine, 5 blade prop, teardrop canopy, 2 x cannons & 4 x
0.303s

Used to catch and kill over 300 V1 flying bombs.

Not really a classic Spitfire, but a whole new machine.
