I'm selling my beloved 12-year-old 68 cm Loewe Profil CRT as I fear
think it would cope too well with an interstate move and long time in
storage.
I'm planning to replace it with a 40 or 42 inch flat panel 1080 HD LCD
as some of the full-hd screens I've seen recently look pretty close to
CRT-quality.
Can group experts here recommend what brands to look to and what to
avoid? I'm thinking of a price-range of around $1500 to $2000 -- my
daughter bought a 36-inch Samsung which looks pretty good in her home
but I'm sure someone out there can give me better advice than if I
just followed her blindly.....
The same person who is buying my Loewe is also picking up my Sony VLP
HW10 projector -- so as soon as they're in the market, I'll be
replacing that with the new VLP HW15. Those two changes should see me
set for a few years .....

I reckon the Bravias seem to have the best picture out there. What is your
budget? Mabye look into LED as well.
