Rules and Stuff

4 of us got together to discuss some of the rules we do or don't play here and try and align them more with what is the standard internationally.

Before we push it as a Standard we welcome any feedback or concerns.

Ball Jointing - Ball jointing will be allowed in your own half - however if you do ball joint you must pass before a goal is scored. (Ball Jointing to get the ball out of the gutter is an exception to this) - This has been discussed internationally for over 3 years and this where it has ended up.

Euro-Cheat mallets (The ones with the big holes in the side) - These are allowed. However the above ball jointing rule applies if you use the euro cheat hole to pin the ball against the ground.

Courtesy tap-outs - In order to keep the games clean and friendly we will be pushing the Courtesy tap out rule. If you do a dick move and take some one out then tap out after them (Regardless of if you put your foot down or not). Also if you put your mallet under someones wheel (front or rear) and it causes them to tapout then you need to tap out after them. If you get angry and do something really dumb and realise you shouldn't have done that then do a double tap out (one on each side of the fence).

Keep your mallet below your handle bar around other players (Watch those back swings)

Games start with your rear wheel against the back wall.

For some of the harder games we will allow a bit more messing with the Goalie and the shoulder to shoulder and forearm to forearm contact - if you are playing those games you will know.

Remember play people how they play you.

How about mallet slashing?  Wild swings should be out, but a clean and mid-weight strike on the head of the mallet when goalie is leaning on it seems okay to me.  (No big swing should be needed on a stationary target.)  What is the line about hooking or tapping mallets to put the ball player off?

Think the rule in that regard allows it.

So sweeping the mallet off a tripoding goalie to put them out of the goal is OKAY. In practice however, people tend to take a big swing to slash along the shaft of the goalie's mallet to take them out. This need clarification as it can seriously break the goalie's mallet or cause injury.

Hooking or tapping mallets of a non-goalie player with the ball is allowed.
