Hello all,
In the past people have expressed to me they thing we should try having booths at conventions, like Austin Comic Con. So I'm looking at the form to submit as a "fan organization" at Wizard World's Austin Comic Con. When I went to the one in New York the year before last, MakerBot had a booth there. So they've worked with maker related exhibitors before.
Wizard World Austin is WAY smaller than the New York event, but it could be an interesting demographic to recruit from.
The event is November 22, 23, 24 (that's Fri. - Sun.)
This would be an exhibit/recruit only table, (We can't afford the fee for a booth that can sell things) but the booth would be free as far as I can tell.
I've sent an email in with some questions for more information. In the meantime, please respond and indicate if a) you think it's a good idea, and b) if you think you would be available to work the event.
I'm also trying to learn to delegate, so if you're interested in being the one to head up organizing the booth. Please let me know.
