Position Title Database Architect
Position Description The Database Architect’s role is to design,
install, monitor, maintain, and performance tune production databases
while ensuring high levels of data availability. Writes codes for
database access, modifications, and constructions including stored
procedures. This individual is also responsible for developing,
implementing, and overseeing database policies and procedures to
ensure the integrity and availability of databases and their
accompanying software.
Project Overview The Joint Operations Center (JOC) provides call
center support to the 26 toll free call centers within the Internal
Revenue Service's customer service organization. The JOC dynamically
routes calls, provides site adherence support, generates call
projections and analysis in Atlanta, GA, and maintains the management
information system and data at the Enterprise Telephone Data (ETD)
Warehouse located in New Carrollton, Maryland.

Daily Responsibilities Candidate should be an experienced database
developer with a minimum of 6 years of professional development
experience. Must have advanced programming skills in SQL and have
experience with SQL Server or Oracle databases. This candidate will
work closely with web and database developers on the team and must
have excellent organizational and communication skills to interface
with clients and team members. Candidate must be able to handle
multiple tasks, gather requirements and follow CMMI Level 3
procedures. Must be able to pass IRS Minimum Background Investigation
(MBI).
This is not a database administrator position. The successful
candidate must be able to perform the following with minimal
direction:
• Write ETL processes from several data sources in a multi terabyte
production environment
• Create stored procedures
• Write effective SQL queries
• SSIS package experience is a plus.
