GENERAL DESCRIPTION >>
The Data Architect/DBA will collaborate with the all internal
technical teams and provide technical expertise in creating and
managing database schematics.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES >>
Key responsibilities of this position include:
• Architects and designs complex databases, data warehouses, and data
integration
• Builds and Maintains Data Dictionary and Enterprise Data Standards.
• Builds and Maintains Entity Relationship Diagrams and Data
Integration Diagrams.
• Possesses strong knowledge of both OLTP and OLAP database design.
• Directs and guides Database Administrators as needed.
• Collaborates with development teams on performance and optimization
of complex SQL code and database structures.
• Collaborates with development teams on data modeling and database
design.
• Coordinates external system interface implementation at the
functional level.
Additional responsibilities may include:
• Conducting periodic database backups, recovery, loading new
databases, reinitializing and reloading databases upon installation of
new software version releases.
• Monitoring and optimizing database storage allocation and database /
application server performance and distribution as well as application
data flow and processes.
• Reporting database related problems and resolving them to the degree
possible consistent with operational site configuration management
restrictions.
In addition to the essential duties and responsibilities listed above,
all positions are also responsible for:
• Meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work
performed on an ongoing basis, and performing all work related tasks
in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and
procedures.
• Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding
standards of workplace behavior in completing job duties and
assignments.
• All other duties as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS >>
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or closely related technical
discipline.
• Expert proficiency in database modeling and design using database
modeling tools such as ERwin.
• Strong experience with SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS.
• Minimum of five years of experience with Transact-SQL, stored
procedures, functions, triggers, logical and physical database design,
backup and recovery plans, integration services, replication,
reporting services, and installation, configuration, and tuning of SQL
Server 2005 or later.
• Minimum of 10 years of database experience (MSSQL, Oracle, DB2,
etc.)
• Experience with and strong knowledge of networking concepts and
application security in a Windows Server environment.
• Experience with a mission critical 24x7 production database and
knowledge of the tools available to debug and solve production
problems.
• Ability to analyze and learn rapidly changing technologies and apply
them as part of integrated solutions to business requirements, as well
as work experience in the software development process including
requirements gathering and analysis, design, and deployment
management.
• Experience working with Scrum development teams and integrating
traditional data modeling into an Agile team approach.
• Proficiency in database refactoring and iterative database design.
• Ability to write batch files, scripts, and other code to meet
specifications as needed.
• Strong team and goal-oriented player who is comfortable working with
all internal teams and at all reporting levels.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS >>
• Valid Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA)
certification strongly desired.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science or directly related technical
field prefered.
• Experience with .Net programming is a plus.
• Knowledge of VS2010 SQL solutions desired.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP AND LOCATION >>
• This position will report to the VP of Technology and Product
Development.
• This position will reside in one of INgage Networks’ state-of-the-
art facilities in Naples, FL or Atlanta, GA (Midtown) area.
