Please join the Atlanta Emerging Librarians for a presentation on library leadership by Bill Meehan.
Bill is assistant professor in the MLIS Program at Valdosta State University, where he teaches the course Leadership in Library and Information Centers and is in the process of forming the Library Leadership Institute.
“Library Leadership is Not an Oxymoron” is based on the certainty that leaders are needed at all levels of libraries and information centers and on the principle that effective leadership begins with knowing thyself. The program thus will 1) discuss the importance of leadership in the profession and 2) guide participants through several assessments designed to identify their leadership strengths and weaknesses.
2 continuing education credits have been approved for this event.
Registration is required. Light refreshments will be provided.
