I won't disagree with your assertion:
"Since atheists don't believe in an after-life, what we do in *this*
life actually matters to us."But those societies that have suppressed religious freedom have
substituted "personality cults" as mythical rallying points for the
population. For example, here is an image of mao zedong
http://www.flickr.com/photos/anna/433554936/
The Chinese says “Beijing has a Golden Sun”.
Is there any difference between hero worship of the atheist mao zedong
and the hero worship of some religious personality (such as the
prophet Mohammad)?

Before I worked for Uncle Sam I used to work in NYC and commute from
NJ went through the WTC every workday.
Had a great bakery on the
Concourse level that made the BEST sour cream walnut brownies.
Windows on the World was a fantastic restaurant with an unbelievable
view. They had a half-price ticket kiosk that sold discounted
Broadway shows tickets. Ironically, my Dad and I used to travel into
the city a lot when I was a kid. The PATH trains used to let us off
at the site where they were building the WTC. I remember when they
were excavating the foundation.

It was a relatively small number of people who died, in the long run,
compared to other places in the world. And the way the US reacted
inevitably caused even more innocents to die.
But to those like huck who spew bullshit about it, I have nothing but
disdain. Stupidity brought down the towers, the Bush administration
reacted with more, and the "truthers" like huck are just doing the

I heard on the radio today that the 9/11 FAMILIES, FIRST RESPONDERS

signatures to qualify for a November ballot vote to create an
investigation of the WTC event. I can't find any reference to the news

WTF?
Al Qaeda is engaging in terrorist acts all over the world *and* getting *caught* all over the world.
They *openly* admit they were responsible for the 9/11 but according to these sick, twisted and very pathetic losers, somehow they're not responsible for 9/11.
According to them, the "CIA or the owner of the WTC did it."
1. The CIA has *never* in it's entire history indiscriminately targeted American citizens. Certain groups, yes, but *never* indiscriminately.
2. The owner of the WTC, *if* he arranged this for the purposes of collecting the insurance, had *no* reason to send a plane into the Pentagon or the target the White House which is where the it's believed the last plane was headed before it crashed prematurely.
These are the two critical issues the Conspiracy Theorists ignore because they are the inconvenient truths that indicate this was *not* a conspiracy and was exactly what it was claimed to be.
A declaration of war by Al Qaeda on America.
Nothing more, nothing less.

Hmm....building 7? I don't think so....but I agree that it wasn't heading for the White House. I think it's target was the Sears Tower or the Hancock building in Chicago.
To start my reasoning - here's a pic of a common flight path from EWR-ORD
Hellow from the lower 48 friends from in the commonwealth. The recent
history of the trajedy that struck the U.S. was
devastating. We all have felt the impact of the power of modern
technologies and the infamous uses for world terror.
Your greetings are welcome. My travels haven't taken me to the
wonderland of the North except when serving in the
military in my youth. Not kind of an unbiased exposure to the real
life people lived. (From a layman's outlook). Not understanding as a
grown adult and with an adolescents mind. Gaining the wisdom that 60
years have given my outlook
and looking forward to the perseptions that are now part of me; it's
with sincere appreciation that I accept on behalf of
my fellow Americans & brothers abroad your greetings. Hope that we
shall meet again.

Critical points? You call those two items you posted critical points?

I've never seen either of those two points mentioned before.
The TSA didn't exist on Sep 11, 2001 ia was formed on Nove, ber 19,
2001 and was originally a part of the Department of Transportation..
The Department of Homeland Security was established on November 25,
2002. Over a year later. And became operational on March 1, 2003,with
the TSA as a component organization.

leave their ID in the luggage if it would jeopardize their chance of
boarding the planes? I always needed to show two pieces of ID to board
a plane prior to 9/11 and couldn't carry on even the tiniest of pocket
knives, same as now. How could the safe guard policies break down four
times on the same day and allow such a tragedy to occur?
Who would have a vested interest in concocting a conspiracy theory? I

think everyone has a vested interest in learning the truth.
Thanks for the kind words, Trance. I'm glad he wasn't in the station
either. Living in NJ, that would have put him in the Hoboken-Jersey
City PATH station.
I hope your son is doing alright. I'll keep my
fingers crossed his medical problems are PTSD-related and not
something life-threatening.
Yeah, I realize that lunatic fringe will always be well represented .
I don't really mind when they're spouting off about Alien Autopsies,
flying saucers hidden by the USAF, radio transmitters in their molars,
or the latest fashion accessories for aluminum foil hats. But they
pain they inflict with their conspiracy ravings about 9/11 is
criminal.
On that terrible day I was supposed to go update my Pentagon access
badge. I had gotten to work just before 6:00 AM, and hit the gym.
Showered and went to my office and started the day catching up on the
usual paperwork, emails and phone calls. About 8:30 I grabbed coffee
and some breakfast with a coworker. Went back to my office to leave a
note for my boss that I was going to the Pentagon Pass & ID Office and
was going to grab the 0915 bus. As I was writing him a note, he came
back and said we were needed at a 0900 staff meeting. I figured I'd
go to the Pentagon at lunch time. Didn't quite work out that way.
