I've recently done an installation of ATG Search 2005, and there are
some problems that have cropped up when I try to create an EServer
resource connector. When the content template is created, the
management console throws an error on the template pane. Also, the
Search web site stopped working about this time.

Looking at the log for the server, I noticed that there were a bunch
of 404 file not found errors for some WSDLs, which exist normally in
the other installation of this product that I have done. I'm guessing
that this is the source of my problem, but I don't know if this is the
case yet.

Has anybody else had a case where components were not installed like
this, and have an idea as to what the cause could be? I've asked for
the entire Search product to be uninstalled and reinstalled, but that
won't take place until Monday. Hopefully that will reinstall these
missing web services, but I just want to see if this is a problem
caused by something else in case the reinstall doesn't fix this
particular problem.

I never did figure out what went wrong. I ended up uninstalling the
Search service and reinstalling it. This time the missing components
installed just fine. Maybe this was a one-time fluke. I hope so.

Just on a side note. ATG Search 2005 was not supported with eServer...
there were issues, which were fixed with a patch release, so if you
are just using the standard 2005, it wont work, but i guess as you got
it working you were using a patched version.
