As a newbie here are my first impressions for improvement:
Chain commands as above is a definite request. Also the application
should not be so insistent on spaces. Surely "c030" should be as
acceptable as "c 030".
Personally I would like to see extended runway/localiser lines. IMHO
it helps judge the final turn to intercept the ILS.
I like the idea of assigning runways for landing and takeoff as it is
common practice in Europe. Obviously it is treated as a preference
rather than a rule, but it makes dual runways easier to manage (e.g.
Heathrow and Brussels). So, bias the simulation to assign the majority
of departures onto one runway, with the occasional one on the other
runway, when demand is high, just to make life interesting.
In Europe we use height above the field (QFE) as opposed to altitude
(QNH) within the terminal areas. It would be nice to have this as an
option.
A stepped difficulty selector would be good. I started on Heathrow (2
runways) at easy level, and once I had mastered the commands I
switched to normal level which I found impossible. It would be useful
to work up to normal level in increments. I then switched to single
runway airports (East Midlands & Birmingham) and after a few hours of
playing these at normal level I wished I could step up the arrival and
departure rates some more. I guess the traffic is typical of these
small airports as they handle feeder/charter/executive traffic, but
they can become routine fairly quickly.
It would also be useful to have the active (takeoff) runway displayed
when the game starts. It is not always easy to work this out from the
wind direction.
Great game.
