I think your question pertains to the notion of "Credentials" in the
iTunes U terminology.
The Credential mechanisms are how ASU Authentication information
related to Instructors, TAs, and Students is passed to iTunes U, which
in turn displays appropriate corresponding content based on an
individual's credentials. Instructors can see and change
course/channel content and structure for 'courses' they have 'Edit'
access to, and Students associated with the same course/channel will
only be able to see and download content. TAs have the ability to
upload, download, and delete content, but cannot change the structure
of the course/channel.
Instructors and TAs for courses/channels are added via administrative
tools at ASU, not through iTunes. Students for courses which have a
Schedule Line Number are associated automatically during the same setup
process.
When one first sets up an iTunes course using the ASU Course Request
form (http://my.asu.edu/courserequest), a number of Instructor and TA
roles can be identified at that time. As I initially set up the
Library Channel, you would have missed that part which would explain
your questions. :-) Adding new Credentials after the fact presently
requires administrative access to this system. If you have others that
you would like to add to The Library Channel, please provide me with
their ASU ID numbers (the 993xxx number not the ASURITE) as well as
relevant Instructor/TA assignment and I will be glad to add them.
:-)
