I went to http://itunes.asu.edu/ and clicked the iTunes link. It went straight to the ASU iTunes page, at what point is it supposed to ask me to login so I can edit?
To log in as an 'Instructor' with 'Edit' Credentials, you need to use the login URL. My mistake; I had not provided the URL to you earlier.
Here is the login URL that you can use to access this course for editing:
beta.asu.edu/itunesu-sso/login/
We will be adding a button on the http://itunes.asu.edu web page ASAP to access iTunes U using login credentials, but for now this URL above will work.

Also, a critical point for Mac users. At the present time iTunes U is best launched using Safari. Firefox, and other associated web browsers are a bit problematic. This is an issue that is being addressed among the iTunes U community, and I anticipate a solution to emerge soon.

Well, it gets me to the ASU single sign-in. After iTunes launches, it will not let me edit anything and says "anonymous1234690559900@Arizona State University" at the top.
Yes, I just verified this. I get the same results: " anonymous1234...@Arizona State University" Things were working properly last week. I even demonstrated our fuctioning iTunes U space to folks at the Maricopa Community College District on Thursday evening, before the long weekend. Worked then; even allowed me to log in with Editing privileges from their domain. (this surprised me a little, not that it should have made any difference, but one always wonders)
Um...we'll poke around on our end ASAP and verify that it is not an ASU thing, though I doubt it. It is a fairly straight-forward pass of ID with credentials from ASU to Apple, using code recipes that they provided. My guess is that the ball is getting dropped on the receive side. Again, we'll verify ASAP.
Thanks Paul for the heads-up!

Last week, it would say hiroshi@... but I couldn't add anything. Today I signed up for an itunes public shell, but there doesn't seem to be a way to add iTunes content from there either.

We will have to set up a 'Course' for you via the my.asu.edu/courserequestsystem. This will tie an iTunes U course to your ASURITE ID, and give you 'Instructor' credentials which will enable you to manage the selected course structure, upload files, etc.
As for the global errors we are experiencing, I am still convinced this is an Apple issue. Our code has not changed; it is running without errors, but for some reason the credentials are being processed as 'Anonymous' by Apple. I have sent this error/issue up the chain and will continue to pursue the matter tomorrow should things not get resolved.
Meanwhile, Bruce, let's get your course up and running on the ASU side. I noticed the following course come through the pipeline earlier today:
Course Title: Department of English Podcasts (Public)
> Courseid: TRN-T-English-Podcasts
I assume that you made the request above, correct? We certainly need to refine some of the data that is passed during these requests. Presently the system requires a bit of voodoo magic, some luck, and a series of phone calls and emails to figure out where they come from. Doh! ;-) Obviously, that workflow needs some adjustment!
Anyway, let's hope things get back on track with Apple processing ASAP. Things are really starting to get cooking, and the current situation is kinking our iTunes U Zen!
