Here is another opportunity for assisting the campus:
Energy Service Corps, a nation-wide program and recognized club on campus,
is working to improve energy efficiency in the community through education
and service. California's energy consumption is on the rise, despite us
being one of the most progressive states in the nation. Conserving energy is
a lot easier and more accessible than most people realize, so we strive to
bring this knowledge to as many people as possible. We do K-12 Teaching
projects, where we educate local youth in schools and after-school programs,
and Community Outreach projects, where we educate members of the community
while doing energy assessments and basic weatherizations in their own homes.
We are holding a state-wide launch event. There will be a press conference
with VIP speakers, followed by an energy assessment of the Student Union
building.
This is a Community Service opportunity for CCSF Clubs! Want to get
involved? We are looking for attendees, as well as volunteers to help
perform energy surveys. Volunteers will be trained beforehand!
