PTA End-of-Year Wrap UP

Here we are at that crazy time of year when we are all scrambling
around getting ready for the holiday season. The PTA board of
Directors just wanted to send you a quick note thanking all of your
for your continued support of our wonderful organization!

First of all, thanks to all of your who came to our annual Fall
Festival. Because of your generous support, we were able to raise more
than $5,500 to put towards our general budget. Of course all of the
money raised goes directly back to our teachers and students, and
allows us to fund more programs for your kids! A special thanks to
those in our Aspen Creek community who donated items for our silent
auction, as well as those PTA members whose hard work made the
Festival a success.

Next, thanks to all of you who have attended our first two general
meetings. Our new format of offering dinner and childcare has
increased our attendance by more than double. Please mark your
calendars for our next general meeting on January 20th.

We have had a busy fall! We have been busy with such activities such
as the ice cream social, walk to school day, Broomfield Days float,
school directories, meals for parent-teacher conferences, Chick-fil-a
spirit night, and the Reflections Arts Program. We are currently
working with Mr. Livingston on helping to improve the sound system in
the cafetorium, as well as helping Mrs. Kibe purchase new electronic
equipment for the media center. The teachers have begun using their
PTA grant money to purchase items for their classrooms. All of these
things are a direct result of your financial and volunteer support.

We also have something new to share - along with the school, we have
a new website! BVSD has gone to a SharePoint format for all school
websites and we have followed as well. You can now get to our webiste
directly from a tab on the Aspen Creek School website, or by

Please take an opportunity to check out the new website and see all of
the new features. Please note that our Amazon.com fundraising link is
on the front page of the new site.

If you are looking for a gift for that special teacher, please
consider choosing something off of our PTA-sponsored teacher wish
lists posted on scarecrows in the front foyer of the school. We asked
teachers to make a list of items needed for their classrooms with the
hopes that generous parents would fulfill their "wishes". Great way to
recognize our great teachers this holiday season!

Finally, as you begin to do your shopping for the holidays, please
use our amazon.com link (see the fundraising page on our website for
information and rules if you haven't used the link before). We are
also still collecting General Mills Boxtops. The box tops program has
2 new ways to earn money for our school, without any cost to you. One
is called Marketplace and the other is called The Reading Room. Both
are rebate programs where the school is given back up to 8% on every
qualifying purchase. Go to btfe.com to sign up as an Aspen Creek
supporter and to find out more about the programs. There are over 70
participating stores including Oriental Trading, Land's End, Kohl's,
Nordstrom, Old Navy, Staples and Barnes and Noble! And as always, keep
your Campbell's Soup Labels as we are collecting them year-round as
well.
