2nd Game Summery

9th February Gastonia 0 Asheville 101
We started off well in our play scoring 3 tries quickly, but soon realized Gastonia was easy team to break down, we became try happy and everyone wanted to score a tries and our play became sloppy instead of concentrating on new moves and practice formation play. While we support most play we still did not look for support and the pass instead try to run through and break tackles which is not a bad thing but we have a problem we need to get the ball out to wings to spread play and create gaps but we decide to take it in to play and end up with two or three dependences take us down and in some case turn us the wrong side for us to form a rook therefore loosing ball we seemed have reverted to America foot ball play trying to make that extra yard and knock people over instead of getting the ball out even on breaks we look for extra yards instead passing to support play and then support the other player. Line out play we did not do hardly any of our players we had no communication on the field, rucking we did not drive over but just bound on which gave Gastonia the advantage which meant we had to dig it out of the rook
We did not read the game and look where there people were, if Gastonia where quicker and stronger then the score would easy been revered. Our penalties move worked great but once again when we had penalties out side the 22 yard, and further away we did not even attempt to play the ball. Out in stead electing to kick for touch, after shout out Nemours times to kick deep for wings to put their back men under pressure, we try it once resulting in a 5metre scrum, We had a good pack but we where to high at the front even though we drove Gastonia of the ball a few times we could of made better play with the balls. We had some bad passing of the ball one hand basket ball type to throwing it short or to low other players.
Our kicker Paul Toblar made some impressive kicks for goal he made every kick scored some 25 point last time I saw kicking that good was Gavin Hasting Scotland international and the Australian center David Campese As well as some good attacking moves Paul was named man of the match.
This was a game to home out craft, ball skill and team base but instead we had some team play but more individual play, knowing they were weak. Even thou we had a good score and play where happy with themselves and it’s good to have a large win. I was disappointed that we did not make better uses of our plays and players .We still need to read the game and make better use of the ball, keeping it free and along the line making space to run and gaps in the oppositions, not tiring it up.
Good score guys but this weekend let’s get our act together and get the ball out and support don’t forget to shout for the ball.
we had a good crowed out to support which was great don’t think I have seen some many people out for a rugby game apart for a rugby sevens torment but thanks for their support
