This was a hard fought game which Asheville had to win, by 24 points to gain home advantage and to show Triad we where no push over, and with a different ref from the last time we play them, that we are better than them with our home grown players rather then having Welshmen, Englishmen, and new Zealanders making up at leased one third of their team
We started off well we held the line well both defensively and on the attack we had a good set of backs both new and old which worked rather well. From the start you could see this was going to be a hard slog with very little given and it would come down to mistakes.
The pack played and excellent game in the scrum and lines outs wining scrappy ball push them of the ball in scrums turning ninety degrees excellent play by Asheville the only problem we had was rucking. To slow to rucks not looking lean in on not looking for quick ball which would have given us good ball and attacking playing allowing us to probably score more tries in the this game but we where slow and we did not put the effort in to win the ruck which was rather disappointing
So it became some what of a tactically game penalties would play important in the game on how we would utilize them and Triad they open the score with a penalty kick followed but a second one we managed to half the score with our own penalty kicks.
We had chance but where lost due to bad rucking and not quick think on play which would have given us a good advantage and over loads on the triad side.
We played an excellent defense game one of the best I have seen but the rucking kill us gave any advantage what we had we lost in turn over ball people falling wrong side when tackle not turns towards our side when going into a tackle made it hard for us to get the ball and turn into attacking play by triad.
It was a hard game and we need 24 point plus to get the how advantage but we gave triad a game they lost plays thorough hard tackles they knew they had been in a game with Asheville. Unfortunately we where unable to capitalize on a fourteen advantage when one of Triad players was sent off. What lost us the game plan was our rucking too slow, but all in all it was an excellent game of rugby hard fought for every inch of the field but in which Asheville where unable to gain on the mistake of triad
Gab was named man of match he scored all Asheville points from kicks and tries but he made good supporting play and attacking runs and defensibly great play to see
We are forming an excellent team and team play great to see keep it up boys and we will do well for now and the future just keep it up boys and we will be the best.
