Pacific Corinthian Cup Series

NOTICE OF RACE
Pacific Corinthian Yacht Club is honored to invite you to enter the
2012 Pacific Corinthian Cup Series. This series offers the best way
to continue to hone your racing skills with three different race
formats. We welcome our cruiser friends and encourage you to get
started in racing, try your hand at our favorite sport and meet a
whole new circle of future friends. All the races start in the
vicinity of the Mandalay buoy. Hope to see you at the club, and on
the water.

DATES:
PAC COR #2 MAY 12, 2012
PAC COR # JULY 21, 2012
PAC COR# RESCHEDULED TO AUGUST 25, 2012

TIME: The start signal for the first class is scheduled for 1200
hours
each day.

COURSE: The courses will be chosen from the Pac Cor Series Course
Charts. All starts will in the vicinity of the Mandalay Buoy.

CLASSES: PHRF-handicapped Spinnaker and Non-spinnaker classes and
an
ORCA-handicapped class will be formed with class breaks determined by
entries. Other classes, including cruising class may be formed at
the
discretion of the Race Committee. These are PHRF Category 3 events,
and area A Random Leg or Buoy handicaps will be used as appropriate.
PHRF membership is not required for non-spinnaker, cruising class,
ORCA, or one-design class entries. Non-spinnaker, cruising boats or
ORCA class entries without a valid PHRF certificate will be assigned
a
temporary handicap by the Race Committee for this series.

ENTRY: The race will be governed by the rules as defined in the
Racing
Rules of Sailing 2009-2012. The PHRF MIR Rule does not apply. The
Sailing Instructions and course charts will be available at the
Skippers Meeting, which will be held at PCYC promptly at 0830 hours
each race day. Registration will be accepted before 0830 hours each
race day. For individual races the entry fee will be $45. The entry
fee for the series is $100, a savings of $35. $10 of the entry fee
for
the McCune Memorial will be donated to the Pacific Corinthian Youth
Foundation in his name to provide a scholarship for a young sailor.

TROPHIES: Daily prizes will be announced in each class at the
attitude
adjustment period following each race at the host Club. Series
results will be scored using low point system and trophies will be
announced after the last race.
