RSAKey class gets unpad error (wrong type)

It looks like RSAKey.verify is getting called with a null pad-function (so it assumes pkcs1unpad) and sets the padtype to 0x01.

I get the trace of:
PKCS#1 unpad: i=0, expected b[i]==1, got b[i]=34
TLSEngine shutdown triggered by Error: Decrypt error - padding function returned null!

This happens when starting encryption on the latest version of ejabberd 2, but oddly, older versions work fine.

Any help on where to look would be great.
