Jamaican Documentaries to try to sell at MIPCOM in Oct. She has asks if there are any completed ones that she can take a look at to see if she can sell them. Can you email your groups and ask anyone who has docs to contact Anyhoo@flowja.com regarding this?

LOCAL PROGRAMMING INITIATIVE
Also for those who have local programming they want to air but are unable to because of high local “free-to-air” rates. Or even if they’ve aired them already. There is an airing option available at Flow and the Dir of Media Services there is open to local programmes and charges a minimal fee to air. It might be a way to get your programmes – old and new – seen. So those with programmes they want to air should also send an email to tfearon@jti.org.jm. No, they will NOT be paid for content :-(. We don’t reach that yet. This info needs to come in ASAP as deadlines are in October. JTI is creating a section on Flow for programming to partner with local producer to create regular out-of-the-box Anyhoo endorsed segments.

Palomar5 is looking for creative young minds all over the world:

Fall 2009 Palomar5 and affiliate curators are giving out 30 fully financed residencies for a six week Innovation Camp in Berlin. This is a chance for collaboration as well as self-expression. PROPOSAL WRITING WORKSHOP

JCDC FINE ARTS FESTIVAL 2009
The Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) and the National Gallery of Jamaica (NGJ) have once again teamed up to stage the National Visual Arts Competition & Exhibition. Entries are welcome in the following categories: Ceramics, Fibre Arts, Painting, Photography, Sculpture/Assemblage, Video Art and Works on Paper. Attractive prizes are there to be won! DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES IS FRIDAY, MAY 15, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. at all JCDC Parish Offices and National Gallery, Downtown Kingston. JAMAICA DIGITAL ARTS FESTIVAL 2009

Hi All,

I've been informed that the Jamaica Digital Arts Festival is back again for 2009 and is now seeking entries in the following categories:

* Short Film / Video (up to 15 mins. duration)

* Long Film / Video (up to 15 mins. and over duration)

* Short Form Digital Audio (Music up to 90 secs.)

* Long Form Digital Audio (Music over 90 secs.)

* Web Design

* Digital Art (incorporating 3D Art, Animation, Virtual Reality, Games, Light shows, etc.)

The festival whilst promoting creativity also aims to enable creative solutions to problems or contribute to some business or social benefit. Entries should therefore reflect at least one of the following development areas:

* Tourism & Hospitality
* Music & Entertainment
* Agriculture / Agri-Business
* Education & Training
* Community Development

Also indicate which class your work represents:

* Student
* Adult Amateur
* Adult Professional

You can fill out the form online for your submission and see the rules for the competition. I'm not sure yet what the prizes are for this year but from what I can remember from the last time it was computer software and hardware, scholarships to MTI as well as cash prizes.

Looking for participants in a pilot discussion group. We meet online and discuss a preset topic related to the general theme of 'ART:Jamaica'. Kinda like a book group in a cozy cafe.
