Custodial murder: HC rejects IPS officer’s plea

Kochi: A division bench of the Kerala High Court Friday rejected the plea by Vijay Sakhare IPS challenging the CBI probe into the custodial death of Sampath, the main accused in murder of a house wife.

Sakhare who was listed as the 15th accused had also sought removal of adverse comments made by a Single Bench of the High Court.

The Single Bench had earlier ordered a CBI probe into the case based on a petition filed by Murukeshan, brother of Sampath.

The court had observed that Sampath's kin are unlikely get justice when senior police officers like Sakhare are in the list of accused.
