This photo is from University of ElectroCommunications presentation. It clearly shows a Cansat failure entwined with a broken carrier, protective Nomex and Kevlar harness. It was their first flight - I do not know who flew it ... but one other item for us to improve. K

Did anyone happen to get any video or photos of my last ARLISS flight (Thursday around 4:45 pm)? It was the one that sat on the rail, then slowly climbed up and off the rail and then "hovered" for a second or two and finally took off? It was kind of cool in retrospect but I wouldn't want to try and repeat it.... more »

[link] This is the video from the onboard camera on the Gumby ARLISS - the canopy you see is the cockpit on "Gumby" the nose cone. Interesting to note that the (2) 5/64th shear pins didn't hold the nose cone on when the main deployed - obviously larger shear pins are in order - I'll... more »
