Problems mounting disk image for intel based mac

Hi
when attempting to mount the .dmg i get a pop-up "The following disk
images failed to mount... reason:unknown"
I immediately tested mounting disk images from other downloaded
programs with no problems.
so i know it is the file, not my system.
please get back to me on this... i have been looking for a program
like this for months and can't wait to use it.
