I. Homeless in Cleveland video project

A. Content:

1. Statistical and geographic data

a. Present existing statistical data related to homelessness in a viewer-friendly format (ie hip graphics).

b. Present new data and geographic location of various homeless populations gathered through the video production process.

2. Documentation of various habitation conditions of Cleveland homeless (AFH connection)

a. Established emergency shelters such as 2100 Lakeside Place, City Mission, St. Herman’s, Laura’s home, etc.

b. Transitional shelters such as Y-Haven, Salvation Army Wilson Tower, Cleveland Housing Network

c. New innovative housing models such as Emerald Commons on Madison Ave., etc.

d. Public Square

e. Tent city

f. Abandoned buildings (Charlie)

g. Forest campsites (Armando)

3. Interviews with Local Organizations

a. Service Organizations: Northeast Ohio Coalition for the Homeless (NEOCH), Care Alliance, Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry, Mental Health Services, The Salvation Army, VA Healthcare System of Ohio.

b. Meal Centers: St. Patrick’s, The Spot, etc.

c. Cleveland Downtown Alliance

4. Interviews with individuals that are Homeless

a. Tell personal stories

b. Discuss current living conditions

c. Share desires for the future

5. Present current/upcoming “hot-button” political issues related to homelessness in Cleveland

a. Relocation of 2100 Lakeside overflow from Aviation High School to North Pointe Inn

(1) Potentially be the first homeless shelter with strip club

(2) Relationship of post-911 America to homelessness

b. Curfew on Public Square
