1. Sign up for the Partnering to End Homelessness Annual Dinner:
In order to cut down on costs and move a step closer to reducing our
"carbon
footprint," we are trying to eliminate the formal invitation to our
annual
fund event-"Partnering to End Homelessness." We would love if you
would
attend our annual event by reserving a seat from our website. We made
it
through a rough year. Come celebrate with our Board of Trustees the
triumph
of making it to 2008, as we detail our plans for long- term stability
in our
struggle to end homelessness. You can reserve your ticket or table at
the
Seventh Annual Dinner and Auction from our website at www.neoch.org
<http://www.neoch.org/> under "Contact Us" or the direct link at
http://www.neoch.org/annual_event_08.htm
The dinner and award ceremony is Friday May 2, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. at
the GESU
Family Center at 2490 Miramar Blvd. in University Hts. This is the
only
special event fundraiser for the Coalition all year. We need your
support
to maintain the important services offered by the Coalition including
the
Street Card, website, advocacy, Grapevine and Legal Assistance. The
Partnering to End Homelessness event features a keynote speaker, the
awarding of the Ione Biggs Award, a wonderful dinner, poetry and an
auction.
Ticket prices are:
Corporate/Organizational Sponsor at $500 ($420 tax deductible)
Table of Friends $400 ($320 tax
deductible)
Individual tickets are $50 ($40 tax
deductible)
You can pay for your tickets with a credit card or paypal account from
the
website using Network for Good services. Or if you prefer you can
reserve
your space from the website and pay by check through the U.S. mail or
at the
door. We would love to have you join us at this important event.
2. East Cleveland Hot Meal site
NEOCH and the local outreach workers are concerned about the number of
people in need of food and living in abandoned properties in East
Cleveland.
We are hosting a meeting with groups or volunteers who might be
interested
in helping to set up a regular meal program in the City of East
Cleveland.
Every night the Salvation Army drives the emergency canteen to East
Cleveland and serves 200 meals to families, children and men.
Previously,
the Army made various stops throughout Cleveland, but they are now
focusing
on East Cleveland. Please join us if you are interested in helping to
put
in place a more permanent indoor location.
3. Next Homeless Congress is May 8, 2008 at 1 p.m.
The next homeless Congress is at the Cosgrove Center in the gymnasium
at 1
p.m. on May 8. We will continue to talk about the shelter standards
and the
idea of turning abandoned property over to homeless people.
