Hi Russell,

As I mention to you after the lecture, and I try again after adding
texture. It still the same ...
I also try:

-Turn off UAC,
-Reinstall all stuff
-Reinstall SDK only

And files didn't show up inside sandbox2...

However the playup tool did export files in to the object file and it
have:
-texture file
-abc.cgf
-abc.dae
-abc.mtl
so I am sure sketchup with playup tool part does work.

What should I do to fix it?

Thank you!

Howard

Hey I am also having the same problem as howard, or I think I am.

The main thing which I am having trouble with now is when I export a
test model through sketchup via Playup all I get out of it in the file
folder is a .dae file and textures folder. When I then open up the
Editor and click on brush, there is no objects folder for me to choose
from at all, nor is there a folder from which I have named
studentnumer_objects etc.

If anyone has any idea on how I can fix this, please let me know.

Cheers

@ Wilkinson
1-i had the same problem but i had not changed the UAC before
installing
everything. after uninstalling, changing the UAC and then
reinstalling
EVERYTHING my folder is now showing up. if you have done this
then ???

2-Oh and i did NOT try to change the 32 to 64 as in this from the
readme
"RC Path: C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis\Bin32\rc
\rc.exe

(note: the RC path above will be Bin64 if your are running a 64 bit
system)."
i found all 64 folders empty.

3-may be change the sketchup to "Run as administrator"

i do not know if which or any of these will work but it's all i can
think of that i changed.

Hey dsk,

I dont think the UAC is the problem at the moment, just as after I did
install it on my laptop I found it to run very sluggish. So I decided
to install it on my desktop which, sadly, still runs XP but runs
exceptionally fast. As far as I know Crysis doesnt have the UAC
problem in XP that I can find. At the moment the crysis editor opens,
and I am able to create levels, but I cant import any objects into the
editor.

Cheers for the suggestions though, I might uninstall and reinstall
everything again. Fingers crossed it works!

Hi Guys,

Howard: the abc.cgf file you've made is the one that Crysis Wars uses
in game, so that suggests that PlayUp is working properly. What's your
objects folder called? Can you see it in the brushes menu?

John: are you using a custom texture? Use one of your drawings, the
standard SketchUp textures don't work. Your problem is a different one
to Howard as you don't have the *.cgf file being created. Windows XP
is probably the easiest operating system to get working with
SandBox2 ... it doesn't have the 'problematic' UAC settings to deal
with. I'm still using XP on one laptop and its very stable. I only
switched to Windows 7 because I thought most of you guys would be
using it.

DSK: you would have changed the path to "Crysis Wars" from "Crysis"
though aye.

RC Path: C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis Wars\Bin32\rc
\rc.exe

I'm not sure why the bin64 is empty on some installs ... as it appears
on others where the system seems to be the same (i.e. Windows 7, 64
bit).

Cheers, keep us posted

Hi, Howard, i got the same problem as u and my frds help me to solve
it
Wat im doing wrong is i had the wrong export path, u shoud create a
new
Objects file which is directly under ur Game file, dont choose the one
under
editor folder. Then ur object file should be show up in Sandbox.

Hi all,

Thanks for you guys helping.
I am sure my file is under Game file which the path is :

C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis Wars\Game\<object file>

I also tried:

C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis Wars\Game\level\<object
file>
and
C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis Wars\Game\ (<---
without any file just put all the stuff under Game)

For <object file>, I tried:

1) z1234567_object
2) Z1234567_object
3) 1234567_object
4) 1234567
5) object

but none show up in Geom Entity, Entity or Brush.....(with push the
"reload button" to reload or even restart sandbox)

May be I have to import the model to sandbox in Red Centre...

Thanks,

Howard
