Subject: (US) New Mexico animal 'rescuer' arrested for stealing and abusing dogs
Officials in Torrance County, N.M. have arrested a self-proclaimed
animal rights activist on charges of animal cruelty and burglary after
she was seen throwing two puppies out the window of a moving vehicle.

According to Friday's KRQE News, the culprit, 59-year-old Debra
Swenerton, is also suspected of being a repeat dog-napper of dozens of
pets in the area.

Swenerton's arrest follows a rather bizarre chain of events.
