(US/in) Owner upset police shot dog

Sunday's visit to Mihal's sister's house next door to her in the 2900
block of Monnier Street, however, landed Sully in the emergency
veterinary clinic.
Mihal said someone in the neighborhood reported Sully after he jumped
her fence to go into her sister's yard about 4 p.m. Sunday.
The responding officer shot Sully in the left shoulder. Mihal rushed
the dog to the emergency clinic at Purdue North Central in Westville
where he was treated and released Monday morning and then taken to her
local veterinarian from whom he is expected to be released this
morning.
Portage Police Chief Mark Becker said the unidentified officer shot
the dog only after it lunged at him. The officer's story is backed up
by witness reports.
