(US/wi) James Cromwell, other activist charged in Board of Regents incident

Actor James Cromwell and another animal rights activist were charged
Friday with civil ordinance violations for allegedly disrupting a UW
Board of Regents meeting on Feb. 7.

Cromwell, 73, of Studio City, Calif., and Jeremy Beckham, 27, of Salt
Lake City, face fines after they were charged with disorderly conduct
for protesting cruelty to cats used in research.

"This is not science, this is torture, and it is criminal! Shame on
UW!" Cromwell shouted at the Regents meeting before being led away by
police.
