Hi all,

I put this listing of a google search together about Ryan's and Romney's hunting a while back; I regret that it got buried in drafts while I've been working on the campaign to re-elect Barack Obama and a Democratic Congress.   I wish I had sent it sooner; but, better late than never.   One article is fully copied below links.   As you know, bowhunting is one of the most barbaric methods of killing; a bow can leave the animal injured and suffering a long drawn-out death.

Exclusive: GQ Reveals Paul Ryan's Secret Service Code Name!

According to a campaign official, it's "Bowhunter."

His wife, Janna, is "Buttercup."

Where some candidates choose evocative names‹President Obama sees himself as a "Renegade," while George W. Bush was a "Trailblazer"‹Ryan chose his favorite hobby. The man is a skilled archer, a hunter of deer, and an aficionado of the sport.

Ryan is also the cover model for next month's Deer & Deer Hunting magazine. He told the publication's managing editor: "Studying the strategy, preparing food plots, the strategy of where a dominant buck is living or will be moving and then being in position to get a shot, that's really exciting."

Ticketmate Mitt Romney's code name, as first revealed by GQ, is "Javelin," perhaps named after a car his father's company once manufactured.

A Secret Service spokesman declined to comment, although the Service has said in the past that the publication of code names does not risk the security of its protectees because all radio communication is now encrypted.
