Friends,
The doctors seem truly amazed by
Pete’s progress and are expressing optimism for the first time. One
doctor
said that he expects Pete to make a “full recovery.” Those are
important words to me because this doctor had been the most openly
negative in
the first several days.
So much progress has already been
made. It’s showing up in the healing of major organs, and a recent
brain
CT scan showed no abnormalities. He’s still being mildly sedated so
that
he doesn’t try to remove the air tubes. When the sedation is lowered,
as
it often is to test his responses, he can follow instructions. He seems also to enjoy hearing the details of our cats’ and dogs’ latest antics,
and I
know he is responding to the healing energy that is flowing his way from all of
you.
Getting him off the vent will be a
major next step in Pete’s recovery and that’s the game plan. He is
moving
toward that point and it could be as early as
today!
The infectious disease specialist
STILL doesn’t know what caused this, but they’ve managed to knock the
infection
out with a cartload of antibiotics and some antivirals, so Pete’s
getting better
in spite of the mystery. A couple of issues with shock from the
“attack”
remain, but steady progress is being made.
I tell Pete how many people are
rooting for him, from your prayer circles in IA, OH, and PA to your
individual
prayers even by avowed agnostics J. I tell him
about the healing energy coming his way from all over the country, and
all the
crossed fingers and toes for him. I can’t thank you enough!
Please keep up whatever you’ve been doing. It’s making a
difference. I can see how determined Pete is to come back to all of
us.
