A/w local OKC weekend hunting news:
The Okla. Dept. of Wildlife Conservation will be holding three public
meetings in Jan.
These public meetings will be about proposed hunting, fishing and wildlife
regulations.
They will be held in different areas of the state.
Univ. of Okla.'s Jan. home basketball game is "Outdoors Night with the
Sooners."
A celebrity angler will be appearing and 1000 OU fishing lures will be
given away.
Trout fishing will begin Friday at Okla. City's Dolese Youth Park
Pond
This is part of the "Close to Home" fishing program which is a joint
project of the Okla.
Dept. of Wildlife Conservation and the City of Okla. City.
More than 8000 rainbows will be put in the pond every two weeks
during the season.
Unless exempt, all anglers ages 10 thru 61 must have a city fishing
permit.
Fishing from a boat is not allowed and any trough caught and placed
on a stinger
cannot be released back into the water.
The daily limit is six trout per angler and each person is allowed
to use only one rod
and reel. Also, there is a free trout fishing clinic where
participants will be taught casting,
knot-tying, fish identification, angler ethics and more.
