I know I update this subject a lot, however this is an area that I an
finding new information on an on going basis.
In this latest update this updated was based on research,
observations, and then an experiment using a camera with a special
filter to verify observations and research.
This new section added to the article deals with "Useful Light
Energy", as many aquarium lights produce yellow and green light energy
that has minimal use for plants, reef, and to a lesser extent fish.
This further explains tests of late that are showing how a low wattage
LED light can out produce some of the popular fluorescent lights of
vastly higher wattage (the 50,000 hour lifespan also makes the LEDs a
"better buy" when compared apples to apples)
