Aquamacs 3.x and Unicode

Dear All,

I have observed problems with displaying unicode in recent Aquamacs
nightly builds. I am currently using a build from July 2012. Using
that I can load a file called unicode.tex and successfully display
almost all of it (except Runes). I'm using Menlo (at 13 pts, if
that's relevant). Not so with recent builds. I get a lot of boxes.

The specific versions are:

aquamacs-24.1.50.3-2012-07-17
aquamacs-24.3.50.3-2013-02-27

I suspect it is Emacs, rather than Aquamacs specific, but I have to
either build or download a vanilla one myself. I'm attaching two
screen grabs for reference.
