Probably yet another case of corrupted and concatenated APRS packets on
the APRS-IS. You can transmit a PHG000 in the comment to delete them.

Maybe I should start storing a timestamp for the PHG arrival time and
clear the PHG if it's not transmitted for a while.

Thank's, my data is clear now.

So, what is your callsign and SSID?

http://aprs.fi/?c=raw&call=WA2UAH does set PHG, and not to 0.

Took me a few guesses to figure that out also.  The key is in the phrase:

When I click on the site in question, W2LV, the bubble ...

W2LV is what he's asking about and the raw packets definitely show PHG0000 and nothing else.  The decoded doesn't show any PHG information though:

I just digged in a bit further in this case. The station, W2LV, was
transmitting using a weather station symbol /_ which will cause aprs.fi's
decoder to go and try to decode weather data from the comment field. Not
PHG, and not much else. The weather report is identified by the symbol
(APRS101.PDF chapter 12, Data Type Identifiers), and if I recall
correctly, there was some ambiguity happening unless that's applied.

Currently W2LV is transmitting invalid packets
(http://aprs.fi/?c=raw&call=W2LV), the leading 0 digit is missing from
longitude. The symbol has been changed, though.
