Hi all,
We at the RACELab are proud to present AppScale 1.3 Beta! It
includes numerous new features such as:
* Upgrade to Python App Engine 1.2.7 compatibility
* Introduction of Java App Engine 1.2.5 compatibility
* Addition of support for MongoDB and MemcacheDB
* AppServers are now multi-process and PBServer is now multi-
threaded, greatly improving performance
* True memcache(d) support for Python App Engine apps
* MySQL bug fix allowing runs over any number of nodes greater
than one
* Amazon AWS EC2 public image available (ami-5e05e737)
* New single node deployments for MongoDB and MemcacheDB
* Ability to delete applications from a running deployment
* Complete rewrite of AppLoadBalancer
* True support for static files via nginx (Python App Engine apps
only)
* Numerous security fixes relating to cookies and administrator
status on apps
* Additional robustness and bug fixes
This release is a beta release since we are still working out some
issues with certain databases in certain environments (see the Wiki
for specifics). However, we wanted to put out a new release with Java
App Engine support and MongoDB / MemcacheDB support as soon as
possible, so as such, here's AppScale 1.3 Beta! We currently are
working out the rough edges, but please give it a try and send us your
feedback!
Thanks for the interest in AppScale!
