"OBS" Function

Is there a way an "OBS" function could be added?  

Basically, OBS allows any waypoint to be turned into a "virtual VOR" and the OBS allows the user to select the bearing to fly to/from the point.  It creates an infinite magenta line to be intercepted for that course.  

An example of its use could be flying the Mesa One departure at KFFZ, where one needs to intercept the 003 radial for TFD rather than flying directly to the point.

Does the PFD not do it ? Do you mean on plate screen?

On map screen would be the best.  Again, imagine you're at KFFZ and are told to do the Mesa One Departure, which requires tracking the 003 radial.  Having it on plates doesn't seem like it'd be a big help, honestly.
