SSO set-up assistance

is there a method to setup SSO without programming knowledge (or paying
someone to do it)? all we need are users to access a page to login and
maintain their classroom pages with minimal intervention from the admin who
setup their accounts. we have contacted godaddy which turned us back to the
google apps edu team.

I'm coming from a GroupWise environment, and am wondering if there is
a way to share addresses for my Google Apps Education package?

I'd like to be able to create an address book, or contact groups (I
think thats what google calls them) and have it show up in specified
user's accounts. If possible I'd also like the ability to give rights

Not really - the new OAuth stuff allows some (docs) access, but not
mail, is my understanding. The other issue, is it requires some
programming, which I really don't have time for right now :)

How can I get a response from Google on this?

In davehartley's case there is never a need for a global signature
because it is apparent from the domain name ('students.domain.com')
but in our case the domain we are using isn't self-describing and a
global signature would help.

Staff at the school need to be able to access user accounts (Mail and Docs),
without the user knowing - is this possible? At the moment we obviously have
to change the password to gain access, but obviously the user will guess we
have accessed their accounts.
Any ideas?

The list of servers in Google Email Migration Directions is missing
most of the required servers.
You must open your Firewall to all the servers Google sends mail from.
To get this list use this command:

dig txt _spf.google.com

Here is the current list:

216.239.32.0/19
64.233.160.0/19

I don't know of one that is in progress currently (although that
sounds like a good idea). You might consider getting started with
something, open sourcing it, and then placing it on Google Code. Then
those that might be interested in assisting would have a forum to help
you out.

.edu domains are controlled by a group called Educause (awarded by the
department of commerce in 2001).
