A friend has asked me to help with his story for his family which will
be a Christmas gift. He has, of course, done all the typing bringing
us to the time to format it for sending to the printer. He will be
making paperback books of this though I suggested he consider hardback
as those were more likely to be kept rather than discarded later.
My question involves document length. There are 130-135 pages to this
document. Currently, I have it all in one InDesign document which
allows me to have all the styles set in place without having to check
multiple documents. There are seven chapters to this book which vary
greatly in individual length. Usually, I would have a "Book" which
would consist of several documents but wonder if this is necessary in
this instance.
What are your thoughts regarding the length of the document? Should I
leave it as one document (formatting appropriately) or break it into
several?
