Hi there - my Platinum //e has some keyboard problems so I swapped it out with a //e enhanced I had on the shelf - unfortunately, this model seems to be a European model with an alternate character set. The 3 key has a pound sign on it etc. In DOS and ProDOS the charset is wrong, in Applicard CP/M it's ok. Is there a softswitch somewhere to switch the machine into the normal north american character set? Or so I need to swap character roms?
Interestingly I understood that the European models were PAL and had the 80 column slot on the side of the case furthest from the ps, this one is the same as a north american model in all respects...

My Spanish Enhanced //e has a small switch under the keyboard, to the right, bellow the down arrow. At one position, it selects the Spanish keyboard layout and charset. At the other, it switches to the US ones.
BTW, the auxiliary slot in this [PAL] Enhanced //e is at the center of the board, directly in front of slot #3. I have read that the logic in that placement is that you wouldn't want to use both a 80 column card and slot #3 at the same time, because slot #3 is often used by terminal/80 column cards, and anyway the 80 column firmware takes control of slot #3's I/O hooks.

I have a Cirtech Insyder SCSI in my Apple IIgs ROM01. I can't make it working. Seems to be recognized, but do not boot with a Disk which is working with another card. The drivers Disk coming with the card let me do only a bad block detection (HD is seen and light) but any other tools like formatting show me a PRODOS Error 40.
I'm searching for the Cirtech Manual, and any Disk image of utility.
If somebody have such manual, let me know. Thanks!
According to the first site above, it should work with the IIgs. You mean that the drive boots with a different SCSI card, yes? It's possible that the card is broken, but I kinda doubt it.
Perhaps it has something to do with the MLI, Machine Language Interface? There is Prodos 8 manual ((http://www.easy68k.com/paulrsm/ 6502/PDOS8TRM.HTM#4). ) on the web, that lists an MLI error "$40 - Invalid pathname syntax. The pathname contains illegal characters." Perhaps this what you are getting? If so, there is probably something wrong with where the utility is expecting the drive to be found. If you can you should check any configuration tools and information you might have that goes with your other card and figure out what all the settings are in that case. Perhaps the Cirtech card expects to be in a particular slot or for the drive to be terminated or some other odd condition that you aren't meeting.

There's a guy whose username is David Wilson on JLA Forums, who replied to a post ( http://www.jlaforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=5729835&start=10 ) in 2008 in a way which suggested he had the manuals for such a card. Perhaps you should try and track him down. If he's findable, he may still have them.

The A2 Documentation Project folder you mentioned is just a scan of the card, the disks, and the cover of the manual. Don't bother tracking it down, it won't be helpful.

The flaw in that logic is that some cards need no slot I/O addresses (e.g. Accelerator cards). Stacking them prevents using both so you have a "wasted" slot.
