Hi all,

I upgraded my ape-server, but when I added the script MySQLDemo.js to
my main.ape.js

I got this error :

/usr/bin/aped: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/ape/
libmod_spidermonkey.so: undefined symbol: scramble

I had a look to my ape.conf

Config {
#relative to ape.conf
modules = /usr/lib/ape/
modules_conf = /etc/ape/
}

All paths seem to be right.

any idea ?

Thank you.

Ok I compiled libmod_spidermonkey.so with sources, and all is fine.

But an other question,
I got an error :

Uncaught TypeError: Property '$family' of object [object Object],[object Object] is not a function mootools.js:44

line 44 :
    if (item.$family) return item.$family();

I used mootools 1.3.2 and tried to update mootools-core in 1.3.2 in ape-jsf/Source. Got the same error.
If I use mootools-1.2.5 instade of 1.3.2, all works. I thought it was independant. What is wrong because it worked with APE 1.0 ?

Thank you.

Did you update APE_JSF to 1.1.0 as well?

Interesting.

If someone else is experiencing the same issue, please let me know.

Hello,

Thank you for your answers. I got the message :

/usr/bin/aped: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/ape/
libmod_spidermonkey.so: undefined symbol: scramble

after adding the line "examples/MySQLDemo.js" in the main.ape.js and when I launched ./aped (my MySQLDemo.js file contains some custom commands to log raw in my database). To solve it,  I downloaded APE_Server-1.1.0.src.tar.gz and recompiled libmod_spidermonkey.so. And replace my old libmod_spidermonkey.so with the new in:
/usr/lib/ape

@Pablo : for mootools, I downloaded new sources here http://www.ape-project.org/download/APE_Complete_Package.html but mootools-core is the 1.2.5 release (./Source/mootools-core.js).

I tried to replace it with mootools-core 1.3.2 but I got problems. The only issue I found was to change my mootools 1.3.2 with mootools 1.2.5 in my website. Otherwise I got the message :

Uncaught TypeError: Property '$family' of object [object Object],[object Object] is not a function mootools.js:44

and for line 44 :
    if (item.$family) return item.$family();

Yes. APE JSF is still not compatible with mootools 1.3.
Anyway, we are working on an agnostic framework library right now.

@anthony I'm not familiar with mootools, but a jQuery like framework would be awesome. Its new features like the $.defferred object would make things alot simpler.

I vote for mootools 1.3 :)

I hope you guys add a stable JQuery support. What I'm using now is a
bit wonky. I'm using your mootools lib + DUI so that I can make
classes in JQuery.

We are working on an agnostic-framework lib.

ANyway, you can still use the APE JSF without mootools by including
"Javascript.js" as a client.

Still, APE_JSF is based on mootools thus the lib is loaded modifing the whole developement enviroment since it is a prototype based lib.

I've never encontered any problems or interferences while working in a mootools enviroment, but I've read about it cluttering the DOM with its modifications

No. APE_JSF loads mootools in a sandboxed iframe.

has anybody got MYSQL and APE working together at ubuntu?
I'v tested it with ubuntu 64 bit and also 32 bit, just after system boot there is an error:
"2012-01-15 13:08:00 - libape-spidermonkey.c:2204 - JavaScript : Connection error 13 can not connect to host"
but the ape-server is working only sql.query does not work.
If I stop it,then the start cannot be done because of this error:
"/usr/lib/ape/libmod_spidermonkey.so: undefined symbol: scramble"

Any Idea?
