APE log rotation

Hi,

I am struggling with the APE log rotation.

This is currently done on my server via webmin. It rotates ape.log
into ape.log.1 and then ape.log.2 etc.

The problem is that when copying ape.log into ape.log.1, it must be
doing it the wrong way (or APE has still the file open).

It results in ape.log indeed being copied onto ape.log.1 but APE
continuing to write in ape.log.1 (and not ape.log).

I believe that APE has the file open all the time and the fact that it
has been "renamed" does not bother him much.

The result is that there is no file rotation. Everything ends up in
ape.log.1 and that is for ever.

Any solution to this?

Well, it starts logging back into ape.log until the first rotation when it will then be ape.log.1
