AOF invites you to "Everyone Has a Story," a free presentation by Margaret Downey on Tuesday, March 13, 7 p.m.
Location: Curtis Hall, Sierra 2 Community Center, 2791 24th Street, Sacramento, see map here.
You may have heard of Margaret Downey, an internationally known feminist and freethought leader, past president of Atheist Alliance International, author of the annual Richard Dawkins Award, and a founder of the Anti-Discrimination Support Network, the Freethought Society of Philadelphia and the Thomas Paine Memorial Committee.
Margaret will describe her journey from being a baptized, practicing Catholic to an outspoken leader in the nontheist community. We too often ignore the human and emotional connection to freedom of thought. Margaret hopes her "Bye Bull" story will inspire and motivate others to tell their own journey stories.
Whether a freethinker or a friend & supporter of civic equality and justice for freethinkers, Margaret Downey will inspire you with her brand of activism!
Free admission, light refreshments included. More details here.
Note, a raffle of restaurant gift cards (Hoppy Brewing Company, 6300 Folsom Blvd) will help cover hall and speaker expenses -- if you can, please bring just a few dollars for a good cause.
We hope to see you. Friends are welcome. (And please spread the word!)
