Glenn Branch, deputy director of the National Center for Science Education, will speak to the Science Policy Journal Club at the University of California, Davis, at 7:00 p.m. on May 23, in 2205 Haring Hall, on the UC Davis campus. Talk title: "After Kitzmiller -- What?"
Kitzmiller refers to Kitzmiller v. Dover, the 2005 case that established the unconstitutionality of teaching Intelligent Design (ID) style creationism in the public schools. It was a pivotal event in the history of the creationism/evolution controversy in the United States.
Why was Kitzmiller the effective end of the second phase of anti-evolution strategy? And what is the third phase going to be like? NCSE's deputy director Glenn Branch will discusses these questions and more with the University of California, Davis, Science Policy Journal Club.
