I came across this OS software called Popup and wondered if any of you
may be interested in it or if any of you have used it.

One takes a digital image (preferably with straight lines, say a
street or building) and as I understand it, the software adds ‘folds’
across the image where flat ground meets vertical faces (walls, etc),
calculates a perspective point and then the software builds a 3D
image. The results look very impressive and I think that it would be
an excellent way of presenting old photographs of buildings and
streets or even new images. I have had a little play with the software
but I’m getting bogged down in command lines, etc. If any of you have
had success with this technique, I’m sure that the rest of us would
like to hear about it.

Bill
